Cooking Classes
Cooking classes give rise to a world of discovery for children.
Cooking with Kids school lunches are served about twice each month in Santa Fe elementary schools. School Lunch Recipes are adapted from classroom cooking lessons to connect classroom learning with school meals. Our goal is to support appealing and healthful school lunches that children will eat and enjoy.

Just as you do, we want school food to be healthy, appealing, and nutritious.Cooking with Kids school lunches use similar ingredients to those in the classroom, but are cost effective and readily available through wholesale sources. Cooking methods and preparation techniques are designed for institutional use. Popular Cooking with Kids school lunches are Llapingachos with Red Chile and Black Bean Tostadas.
We encourage using fresh vegetables and fruits, suggest olive oil and fresh garlic, and facilitate purchasing of local produce and other locally made products. The Farm to School program makes it possible to purchase and serve local produce as part of school meals in the Santa Fe Public Schools. Melons, apples, pears, salad greens, and sunflower sprouts are purchased from local farmers and served in school cafeterias.
