Cooking with Kids adapts classroom recipes for use in school cafeterias. All recipes comply with federal regulations for reimbursable meals. In Santa Fe, Cooking with Kids cafeteria meals are served about twice a month in all twenty-one public elementary schools. Cooking with Kids collaborates with Santa Fe Public Schools Student Nutrition Services administrators to provide hands on training for cafeteria managers and staff. Cafeteria personnel are encouraged to visit cooking classes at their school site to become familiar with the program.
